This is a project for the art festival 48h Neukölln 2020.
The art market in Berlin is booming. On the one hand, this means - more galleries, more diversity, more cultural exchange. On the other hand, this increasingly displaces art that initially does not generate any added value as a return object in the market economy sense. The work of art shows the conflict of the “suspended”. Revered and stunted at the same time, should they quote the conflict that Berlin also faces as a cultural city: should the city continue to promote cultural spaces apart from market economy success or should the market be self-governing in a capitalist way?
As an active member of the artist group KunstEtagenPankow, I would like to draw your attention to the displacement of studio spaces and art spaces.
