Artist Statement

Performative + Emotional + Emphatic + Energetic = Raimund Schucht works on impulse; his sculptures and paintings are often created within a short period of time. His work is about drawing from the dynamics of the moment — an energetic output of power and material, but always figurative. The human being as a force field, in all its facets.

Raimund Schucht, born in 1981 in Siegen, lives and works in Berlin. He completed an apprenticeship as an interior decorator, earned a degree in engineering, and obtained a Master of Arts in scenic space/stage design —these are some of the paths he has taken. Today, Schucht also works as a freelance artist, architect, scenographer, and stage designer in the fields of culture and art.

He is a member of the bbk Berufsverband Bildender Künstlerinnen Berlin* (Professional Association of Visual Artists Berlin) and the KunstEtagenPankow art association.
